Victoria Wade
Psychotherapeutic Counselling

My training is in integrative psychotherapeutic counselling which means I have multiple lenses I can use to understand what is going on and how we can best work together to meet your individual needs. I offer both longer-term and shorter-term therapy both online and face to face within Leeds city centre.

The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my work. Therefore, I provide a safe and compassionate space for us to explore what has been going on for you and understand it together. Through mutual commitment, we can work together to bring greater awareness of yourself and patterns. With awareness means you can move away from making unconscious choices and move towards making the change you want to see.

I will always tailor our work to your individual needs. This might involve exploring your unconscious processes, which shape the way you think, feel and make sense of the world. Other times, we may focus on what is happening here and now. This could include supporting you to cope with the world around you.

An important part of therapy is providing a space to hear and understand what is going on for you in a supportive and non-judgmental way. This may also include a gentle therapeutic challenge when needed as part of my commitment to your therapeutic goals.

My professional backgroup is in mental health services across the NHS and private sector in various roles. I began training 5 years ago as a therapist and have been practicing in a voluntary capacity at Pheonix health and wellbeing since 2023.

Services

Free 20 Minute Consultation

To help you decide if we’re a good fit, I offer a free 20-minute
phone consultation where you can ask questions and get a sense of how we could work
together. You can let me know after the session if you would like to book with me via
email, so there will be no need to commit over the phone.

Short Term Therapy

If you would like to focus on a specific problem or need to build up some coping skills, short-term therapy can be useful for this. I can offer short-term therapy 6-20 weeks. We can assess the suitability of this type of therapy for you in our initial consultation,

Long Term Therapy

In some cases, longer-term work is indicated. This could be suitable for you if you feel you want a more open and exploratory nature to your work, or maybe you have struggled with something for a long time and want to unpick the unconscious process that might be keeping you stuck.
