How could therapy help you?
Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling weighed down by low self-esteem, shame, or the lasting impact of past experiences. You might find yourself being very self-critical, feeling “not enough,” or carrying a sense that something is wrong with you, even when you cannot fully explain why. You may have learned ways of coping that once helped you survive, but now feel limiting or exhausting. My training is in integrative psychotherapeutic counselling, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches to understand what is happening for you and to tailor our work to your individual needs. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I aim to offer a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can begin to speak about things that may feel difficult, painful, or long-held.Together, we can gently explore how your experiences have shaped the way you see yourself, relate to others, and move through the world. This may involve understanding patterns that operate outside of your awareness, as well as paying attention to what is happening for you in the here and now. As awareness grows, you may begin to notice more choice, allowing you to move away from automatic or self-protective responses and towards change that feels meaningful and supportive.I work in a way that is collaborative and paced, always guided by what feels safe and useful for you. At times, this may include gentle therapeutic challenge, offered with care and respect, in service of your goals. I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy, online and face to face, from Leeds city centre.Alongside my private practice, my professional background includes several years working within mental health services across the NHS and private sector. I have been training as a therapist for five years and have been practising in a voluntary capacity at Phoenix Health and Wellbeing since 2023.

email, so there will be no need to commit over the phone.
Short Term Therapy
If you would like to focus on a specific problem or need to build up some coping skills, short-term therapy can be useful for this. I can offer short-term therapy 6-20 weeks. We can assess the suitability of this type of therapy for you in our initial consultation,
Long Term Therapy
In some cases, longer-term work is indicated. This could be suitable for you if you feel you want a more open and exploratory nature to your work, or maybe you have struggled with something for a long time and want to unpick the unconscious process that might be keeping you stuck.
